Ideas for Class Projects

My ideas :)

1. Functional Medicine

I would love to do all of my projects surrounding holistic health and functional medicine. Functional medicine is all about identifying and treating the root cause of common diseases, such as asthma, alzheimers, or diabetes, as opposed to treating the symptoms of them with modern medicine. Functional medicine focuses on health as a whole, knowing that all systems in the body are interlinked and should be treated as such. Holistic health is used in function medicine, using natural remedies, food, and habits to change peoples health. For my Photo Editing Project I would create a series of recipes featuring super foods, including the benefits of these foods for different bodily systems. These would be for an audience of people in their mid 30s, given that that is the most common age for the onset of many diseases and includes an age range of people ripe to take control of their health.

For the Illustration Project I would create charts and infographics about how we are, essentially, what we eat and when. This would include tips on what to eat, when to eat, and habits to practice around food and nutrition. These would be simple yet informative to appeal to those uninvolved in functional medicine as a whole. The audience would, again, be people in their 30s who do not know much about holistic health.

For the Video project, I could show stories of people who have been healed through food and habitual changes, and have them talk about their journeys. I would also love to include a step-by-step guide in the video on how to pursue a healthier life through natural medicine. This could be by explaining the basic component of food and acknowledging the importance of quality.

2. Tennis

I could do all of my projects promoting tennis as a fun and active lifelong sport, with a community formed around it. I would present tennis as accessible, cheap, fun, and easy to learn for people of all ages. For the Photo Editing Project, I would show a series of pictures of families playing tennis and having lots of fun while getting a workout in. I would overlap this with textual information about tennis rules and tips on form. This would appeal to families looking for group activities and to become part of the tennis community.

For the Illustration project I would create illustrations about the court, court etiquette, and the different swings. This would inform people about the basics of tennis and make it seem more approachable for those who have never played before. For the Video project, I could make a lesson simulation with a tennis pro giving basic tips for new players. This could also include clips of championship matches and professional players talking about the sport. This would also appeal to the same audience of families.
